Devon Abelman is a freelance beauty writer who covers the science of skin care, beauty routines of celebrities around the world, and the latest hair and makeup trends straight off the runway and social media.
Formerly the digital beauty editor for Allure, Devon has nearly a decade of experience writing and editing features and interviews on the intricacies and intersectionality of beauty, culture, and K-pop. She even penned Allure’s first-ever digital and print K-pop cover stories. In 2014, Devon graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Journalism and specialization in Gender Studies. She also studied at Royal Holloway, University of London for a semester.
In her spare time, Devon can be found dressing up her XXXL blind-and-deaf rescue dog named Scorpion, studying astrology and Korean, and browsing the racks at her favorite vintage stores. She is passionate about normalizing conversations about mental health, as well as shining light on under-the-radar BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ beauty creators, on her Instagram.
