Leave It To Sophie Turner To Make This Polarizing Shoe Combo Look *So* Cool

Sophie Turner is a woman of many talents. She makes rocking a graphic white cat-eye look extremely easy; she spurred an entirely new trend of wearing a wedding jumpsuit instead of a gown after her surprise Las Vegas nuptials; and now, the actor just made the most polarizing footwear combo look, well, stylish. Get ready to rock Turner's sock-and-sandals combo nonstop this summer and fall — and maybe send an apology letter to your dad for disapproving of the pairing when you were younger.

It's not easy to do, but Turner went from daring, 007-inspired Bond girl (a look she sported in honor of Joe Jonas' Bond-themed 30th birthday bash) to a getup that's a bit more in-line with the ever-popular dad-style trend. It was a drastic switch, but as you know, the Game of Thrones actor can truly pull off everything with utter panache — and ignite a new fashion craze while she's at it.

On Tues., Turner was photographed out and about in New York City. As per usual, comfort was key in the actor's off-duty outfit, which is why she reached for her trusty cutoff denim shorts that sat high on the waist and a cropped blazer-like top with an all-over plaid pattern.

Her necklace and rectangular-shaped sunglasses added some glam, while her socks-and-pool-slides combo (wait, what?) infused the getup with a dose of streetwear-cool. Yep, it's safe to say Turner just gave her stamp of approval to a footwear pairing that's probably one of the most divisive out there.

Prior to leaving her apartment, Turner put on black-and-white checkered ankle socks, and rather than wearing them with sneakers or boots, she decided to slip into a pair of APL logo slides that are so comfy, you'll feel like you're walking on air.

The sandals feature a soft and flexible TechLoom strap with the APL logo emblazoned on it, an antimicrobial mesh footbed that covers a 3D-molded footbed that massages your feet with every step (wow), and a midsole/outsole that offers the same cushioning and rebound as your go-to sneakers. In other words, it's easy to see why Turner chose these shoes for a long stroll around the city.

With the dad-style craze on the up rise (read: dad shirts, chunky dad sneakers, cutoff denim shorts, etc.), it's only natural this bold, father-approved footwear pairing is next on the list. Socks and sandals? It has a nice ring to it, after all.
