The celebrity hair changes just keep coming this month, which means you'll have plenty of ideas to bring with you to your next salon appointment. Although there have been lots of a fresh, fun dye jobs and a handful of retro-inspired shags thrown into mix, there's one style that's proven to be the most favored of all among the celeb set: bob haircuts — and Natalie Portman is the latest to shed some inches for a more summer-friendly chop that not only looks super sleek, but is also very easy to manage.

Portman has switched up her look quite drastically in the past. From buzz cuts to a short pixie, she definitely isn’t afraid to shed major length, whether it's for a movie or, well, just because. This time around, though, the actor’s hair change isn’t quite as drastic as prior years — but it proves that something subtle can still be transformative.

As many celebs tend to do, Portman debuted her hair update at a major event. On April 25, the actor stepped out for WE Day California, an annual charity event that aims to end child labor and encourage social activism among younger generations. Portman commanded the light-blue carpet in an all-black look, but it was her new cut that ultimately stole the show.

The actor's signature collarbone-grazing bob was turned into a shoulder-grazing one, courtesy of hair guru Cervando Maldonado (who also counts the likes of Amy Adams, Reese Witherspoon, and Felicity Jones as clients). Though only a few inches were taken off Portman's usual length, the chop felt inherently fresh and more lightweight.

For the WE Day outing, Maldonado decided to style Portman's new bob in loose, texturized waves. The end result? A sleek hairdo that oozed post-beach summer vibes.

It seems as though bobs of all kind — from choppy to super blunt — have been the most requested of all cuts this year, especially among the celeb set. Naomi Watts, Mandy Moore, Chrissy Teigen, and Irina Shayk have all debuted the some version of the style this season.

Inspired to go shorter? Then now may be time to call your salon and ask for a chop à la Portman.
