No matter the season, it's always wise to stock your wardrobe with basic footwear that will easily coordinate with your clothing. But, that might be easier said than done. With so many different styles on the market, navigating which to choose from is no easy feat. However, the celebrity set can help — more specifically, Amal Clooney's shoe wardrobe, which just so happens so show off all of the classics. The lawyer's style is so effortless to emulate, and with a few investments on a couple key styles, you'll have her look in no time. To get Clooney's signature shoe silhouettes for yourself, all you need are six year-round basics: wedges, mid-calf boots, pointed toe pumps, strappy sandals, motorcycle boots, and over-the-knee boots.

The beauty of Clooney's sartorial moments is that they feel attainable. Whether she's walking a red carpet alongside her movie-star husband George or fulfilling her duties as a top human rights attorney, Clooney always appears completely put together and pristine — and her footwear choices have a lot to do with it. Not to mention, chances are you have a majority of her six go-to silhouettes sitting in your closet at this very moment. Now, they're just waiting to get a Clooney styling approach.

There's no time like the present to put your shoes to good (no, great!) work, so take a page from Clooney's favorite looks ahead and give your shoe game a refresh.

Wedges

It turns out Clooney's 2015 ensemble above is coming back into style today. Yes, wedges are back, but with a 2021 spin (think: clear heels, bright colors, cool sculptural silhouettes). Of course, you can go the classic route and scoop up an espadrille wedge, which has Clooney's stamp of approval.

Mid-Calf Boots

In addition to over-the-knee boots, a mid-calf silhouette is also an essential component of Clooney's cold-weather shoe lineup. The lawyer styles hers in a very on-trend manner — with a mini skirt. She's a fan of a suede finish, but if leather is more your speed, plenty of brands offer the material in a mid-calf finish.

Strappy Sandals

Clooney's first staple (which she's relied on for years) is also majorly trending right now. Lately, it seems like the strappier the shoe, the more popular it is. While the attorney has been known to show off more colorful sandals, neutral options are just as important. They work for both end-of-summer weddings or important meetings in the office.

Moto Boots

While the rest of Clooney's closet is understated and sleek, she has been spotted on occasion (on her off days) in motorcycle boots. The edgy style has been a mainstay on the punk scene for years before making an entrance onto the fashion scene over the past decade. Clooney seems to enjoy wearing her boots with dark denim and flannel jackets. Clooney rocked the fall-appropriate look while at the March for Our Lives in Washington D.C back in 2018.

Pointed-Toe Pumps

Perhaps the most famous of Clooney's shoes is the pointed-toe pump. She's been spotted in the style countless times and in countless iterations. Whether she's in a simple black pair or in a PVC option, she seems to have an endless supply of pumps in her collection. And, with good reason. If there's one pair of shoes that's worth investing in, it's the pump. The style is ideal for the office, but also works for any number of formal events.

Over-The-Knee Boots

Tall boots are the perfect night-out essential, and Clooney embraces them with gusto. In particular, the lawyer is known to pair her own with a bright mini dress and/or coat. If you're looking to replicate the ensemble, brands like Amina Muaddi have super sleek options with a high, stiletto heel, while Tamara Mellon makes a luxe black shiny pair.

Style your taller boots alongside something with a shorter hemline to take your mini dresses and skirts into the colder seasons. Or, try wearing them with a wrap-style midi dress to take them from day to night seamlessly.
