Queen Letizia’s Brown Suede Skirt Is A Winter Staple

Share

Though it's technically cold-weather season, the above-average temperatures may have you thinking otherwise. As such, it's more important than ever to invest in versatile pieces that are wearable on those mild days as well as on the chillier ones. Enter, Queen Letizia's brown suede skirt: an easy, elevated winter staple that you can (and should) carry into the warmer months, too.

The super-stylish Spanish royal has been dishing a consistent stream of outfit inspiration in recent weeks. While she's known to piece together getups that are inherently elegant and timeless, she's certainly not opposed to trying her hand at the latest trends making waves in the fashion world. On Jan. 18, for example, she was spotted in an eye-catching snakeskin skirt — a bold print that was quite a change of pace — but her most recent look might just be her edgiest yet.

On Mon., Queen Letizia stepped out for her first event of Feb. — a forum against cancer that was held at CaixaForum, an art gallery in Barcelona. For the outing, she opted for an effortless, fashion-forward ensemble that consisted of a long, black sweater and a pair of coordinating knee-high boots. But the real MVP? Her brown suede skirt from Spanish-based brand, Uterqüe.

The button-front, suede midi skirt features a belt with shiny, metallic stud detailing and a high slit that adds a bit of movement. Though the royal typically plays favorites with airy, lightweight fabrics like chiffon and crepe (and wool in the winter), her choice of an edgier leather seems fitting, considering she's been stepping outside her usual style wheelhouse in recent months.

Letizia topped of her look with a gold, croc-effect clutch — another major trend that fellow royal, Kate Middleton, is wholeheartedly on board with — and a pair of diamond earrings that added in some sparkle. She combed her hair into her usual, deep side part, opting for neutral-based makeup that played off of her skirt.

If there's one thing you purchase this month, make it a suede skirt. It's a long-lasting piece that you can easily wear year-round. And though Queen Letizia's exact pick is already sold out, the market is stocked with plenty of great replicas. Ahead, shop The Zoe Report's favorite suede skirts on the internet.
