Sure, monochrome dressing can feel quite difficult at times, but Kate Middleton's green belted dress makes the styling approach incredibly effortless. The Duchess of Cambridge was photographed out and about on a warmer-than-average day on Jan. 22 — and she looked simply stunning in what's easily one of her best outfits of the New Year. Prepare to takes notes from this royal (yet again), because she's bound to inspire you to wear head-to-toe green on your next outing.

Middleton has dished out a handful of exceptionally great ensembles lately. Prior to the Tues. sighting, she opted for an eye-catching magenta-hued Oscar de la Renta set — a combo that was right in line with her usual color palette. But it seems she's also been playing favorites with earthier tones, too, the latest example being the green belted midi dress she wore to visit charity Family Action on Jan. 22.

All eyes were on the seasoned royal as she stepped out in three green staples. The hero piece of her look? An olive below-the-knee dress from London-based brand, Beulah. It features slim-fitting, long sleeves and a flouncy skirt with elegant button detailing down the side. But Middleton's version differed ever-so-slightly from the original — it appears as though the royal had the frill-cuff detailing on the sleeve removed, perhaps to make the dress a bit more streamlined.

The Duchess of Cambridge styled the frock with pieces rendered in the same forest-green hue, including a croc-effect belt — another trend she's clearly on board with — a pair of Gianvito Rossi pumps, and an L.K.Bennett clutch in a khaki shade. She wore her long, brown locks in her signature combed-out waves, and rocked eye makeup that stuck with the forest-green theme.

Middleton's dress is the ultimate pair-with-everything staple. Though the royal opted to elevate it with elegant pumps and chic accessories, it could just have easily been paired with earth-toned ankle boots or, if you're feeling bold, chunky dad sneakers.

As the duchess demonstrates so perfectly, monochrome dressing doesn't have to be complicated, especially when you build the look around one hero piece. Ahead, shop The Zoe Report's curated edit of the best one-tone green outfits to wear now, including Middleton's exact dress.
