Your nails can be your best accessory or, in some cases, they can make an outfit entirely. That red nail polish Gwyneth Paltrow just wore on the Avengers purple carpet is a perfect example of the latter. The actor's recent black and red look at the world premiere proves just how vital a good manicure can be.

After playing Pepper Potts for a whole decade (appearing in a whopping seven films since her 2008 Iron Man debut), Paltrow is separating from the Marvel Cinematic Universe at last. The actor brought her son, Moses, along to the Avengers: Endgame premiere in Los Angeles on Mon., showing him some rare and precious PDA in front of the paparazzi.

Needless to say, the Goop founder went out with a bang. For her final superhero film premiere, Paltrow opted for monochromatic black (a mournful tribute to Potts, perhaps?) with a pop of bright scarlet red.

She paired a polka-dot pussybow blouse with a shorts-and-blazer combo and topped it off with strappy sandal heels to match. It was her nail color, though, that made for a bold final touch.

Nails Inc.'s Nailpure Polish in the fiery Tate shade was to thank for adding a necessary pop of color to Paltrow's all-black look.

Celebrity nail artist Ashlie Johnson — a go-to for Lauren Conrad, Kate Bosworth, Dakota Johnson, and Paltrow's Avengers co-star Brie Larson — posted a photo of the newlywed on the purple carpet, calling her bold shade "the perfect red polish."

Lucky for the rest of us, that perfect shade is only $15 at Sephora.

No matter what time of year it is, bright red nail polish is rarely ever a bad idea. The bold shade is somehow as versatile as a nude hue these days. In Paltrow's case, it was an essential addition to a black-on-black look. Ahead, the actor's shade and other affordable polishes.
