Blake Lively & Gigi Hadid Hit Up The Versace Show In Retro-Inspired Looks

On Sun. evening, actors and models alike stepped out to attend Versace's Pre-Fall runway show held at the American Stock Exchange in New York City's financial district. Unsurprisingly, the evening was a seriously stylish, star-studded affair, with everyone from Kim Kardashian to Tracee Ellis Ross dishing out some of their glitziest, most glamorous looks to date. But it was Gigi Hadid and Blake Lively's outfits that ultimately won the night. Though the two wore vastly different ensembles, both managed to pay homage to '90s style in the best way possible.

Lively is known for her sleek, elegant dressing approach, but for Sun.'s event, she seriously upped the glamour. For the occasion, she donned a glitzy, silver Versace chainmail dress that was plucked from the label's Spring 1999 line. It features a high-low silhouette, a delicate halter neckline, and a dramatic open-back design. The best part, though? The shimmering gold-and-silver butterfly detailing that adorned the lower back. She topped off her dazzling outfit with gold Christian Louboutin heels and a beaded clutch from Judith Leiber Couture.

Lively's retro-inspired look didn't stop there, though. She wore her hair in tight, super-voluminous '80s-style waves, perfectly fusing together the fashion of the '90s with the over-the-top beauty trends that were big (pun intended) in the '80s. While her entire look was, in a word, extra, her makeup was simple and understated.

Gigi Hadid, on the other-hand, stuck with her signature effortlessly cool off-duty style approach. After walking in Sun.'s show, the model was photographed heading out with Lively. Her look consisted of just a few wardrobe staples, including a pair of straight-leg jeans, a black top (which she tucked in), and a Matrix-inspired, longline leather trench coat — a trending outwear piece Kourtney Kardashian is also a fan of. A colorful Versace blouse and belt slightly peeked out from underneath the coat.

The model topped off her '90s-inspired look with small, rectangular sunglasses (another essential of the decade), blue, croc-effect ankle booties, and a small, neon-green box bag that added the perfect pop of '80s color. As for her hair? Long and loose, with a combed-back, faux-wet front.

Classic trends from the '90s (read: chunky sneakers, strappy heels, and accordion headbands, to name a few) have been experiencing a renaissance for quite some time — and Lively and Hadid's outfits are proof that the iconic pieces from the decade aren't going away anytime soon. What's more, considering the Dec. 2 Versace Pre-Fall line revived some of the most iconic pieces and prints from the label's '90s-era collections, it's only fitting the attendees also donned looks that paid homage to the decade.
