Right next to a sleek LBD, a classic white tee, and a good pair of jeans comes a refined, sophisticated blazer — on the list of tried-and-true wardrobe staples, that is. Because while plenty of new, tempting fashion pieces are sure to make their way into your hearts this season, nothing can beat the timeless qualities of the aforementioned classics. But of course, there are ways to put an of-the-moment spin on said musts — and Ellie Goulding's One Young Wold Summit 2019 look is proof that a tailored vest looks 10-times cooler than your traditional blazer (without losing its timeless appeal). Grab your wallets and prepare to add this topper to your fall lineup ASAP.

The One Young World Summit 2019, which kicked off on Oct. 22 and will go until the 25, has already been a great source of fall style inspo — and there's still a day's worth of events left. The Duchess of Cambridge, for example, made a convincing case for working a rich, deep purple into your autumn wardrobe, when she arrived in a thigh-high-slit midi dress from Aritzia's exclusive Babaton brand (that she's actually worn before).

Goulding was another notable name to take the stage at the annual summit — a gathering that "convenes the brightest young talent from every country and sector, working to accelerate social impact," per the website. The "Lights" singer's speech tackled the topic of climate change, encouraging youth to choose hope in the battle.

As per usual, Goulding turned out her style A-game for the event, opting for a look that struck the perfect balance between business-chic and athleisure cool. A reworked suit proved to be the hero piece of the ensemble, with a pair of slouchy, extra-long trousers peeking out from underneath an oversized yet tailored blazer vest.

She kept the rest of the pieces about as easygoing as it gets. A relaxed-fitting white tee — a closet classic — acted as a simple base layer, while a pair of chunky sneakers infused the oversized suit with the perfect dose of sportswear edge.

Juxtaposing cool kicks with a two-piece set has long been a celeb-approved style move — and Goulding is the latest to hop on board the boardroom-meets-gym pairing.

So, if you're itching to get in on 2019's suiting trend, but prefer something that feels a tad bit less stuffy than a long-sleeve blazer, a tailored vest is your calling card. Ahead, shop The Zoe Report's absolute favorites on the market.
