On Sun. night, Beyoncé shut down the yellow carpet at the London premiere of The Lion King, looking like a golden goddess in her custom-made Cong Tri gown. (Of course, the moment she and Meghan Markle met was one for the books, too.) Fast forward a couple of hours, and the music icon was back at it again with another show-stopping nighttime ensemble that glistened from every angle. Yep, Beyoncé's gold slip-dress outfit proves two things — first, that the shiny metallic hue is gaining serious ground this season, and secondly, the fact that the '90s-inspired frock is officially the most sought-after staple of summer 2019.

After a whirlwind red-carpet event where Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex chatted about all-things parenthood (some great words of wisdom were exchanged), the power couple headed out for a night in London — but not before making an outfit change. Queen Bey slipped out of her floor-grazing, off-the-shoulder gown and into an equally-stunning yet slightly more easygoing dress for drinks at Harry's Bar in Mayfair.

It seems Bey had a specific color-theme picked out for the night: gold. After wowing the crowd with her Grecian goddess-inspired premiere getup, she reached for a gold-hued mulberry silk slip dress by Dion Lee, which she paired with a matching silk duster coat. Her shoes, however, remained the same. She strutted down the red carpet and the streets of London in a pair of gold Jimmy Choo heels that had a mirror-like effect. Now that's how you do monochromatic metallic dressing right.

Beyoncé sprinkled a handful of glitzy jewels into the mix and, even though the sun had long set, a pair of circular-shaped sunnies to stay a bit more incognito.

The singer is the latest to join a long list of notable celebrity style icons to sport a slip dress. Kourtney Kardashian was recently spotted in the silky frock for a day out in L.A., while countless others have worked the '90s-inspired item into their red-carpet looks, too. Whether it's a casual day of exploring the city, a night out with your best gal pals, or back-to-back work meetings, a slip dress is the answer to all your summertime dressing woes. It's easy, breezy, and incredibly simple to wear.
