Shortly after the palace announced the Duchess of Sussex was in labor on Mon. morning, it was confirmed: Meghan Markle had a baby boy. As royal fans expected, the couple took to their new Instagram account to debut the news. "The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well," the caption read.

Markle and Prince Harry kept the sex of the baby a secret throughout her pregnancy, though that didn't stop royal fans from taking their guesses. A little over six months ago, amidst the then-newlyweds' first official royal tour together, the palace announced that Markle and Prince Harry were expecting a baby come spring. The couple went about their trip in Sydney, accepting well wishes and sweet gifts from Aussie leaders and fans alike. Since then, Markle's pregnancy has spiraled into a global obsession.

Every maternity outfit, sentimental piece of jewelry, and pre-baby event that she's attended since Oct. has seemed to spark new speculations, whether about the baby's due date, sex, name, or otherwise. When Markle wore a diamond ring, for instance, people started placing their bets on an April due date. And when rumors began swirling about the duchess handing out pink sugared almonds during her baby shower in Feb., fans were certain she was expecting a girl.

Baby Sussex is finally here to put all the rumors and speculations to rest.

While the name of newest royal is still unknown, the Instagram announcement confirmed he weighs 7 pounds, 3 ounces and arrived in the early morning of May 6.

As expected, Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, is with the new parents at Frogmore Cottage, the palace confirmed in a statement. She is "overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild," the announcement read.

Markle will not be posing for photos with her newborn immediately — like Kate Middleton and Princess Diana did with their children — and instead, will be celebrating privately with Prince Harry. The couple will reportedly take photos with their baby boy on the grounds of Windsor Castle later this week. In the meantime, you better turn those Sussex Royal Instagram notifications on, stat.
