Alessandra Ambrosio Styled This Shirt As A Jacket & It Looks So Good

Celebrities love dual-purpose pieces. Kate Middleton is known for wearing her elegant coats as dresses and, last week, Margot Robbie demonstrated exactly how to wear a cardigan as a shirt. The best of all, though, is that Alessandra Ambrosio just wore a red tweed button-up as a cozy, relaxed jacket. One look at the model's outfit and you'll be inspired to breath some new life into your closet staples, too.

On Dec. 11, the former Victoria's Secret Angel was photographed out and about in Los Angeles wearing one of her coolest, off-duty outfits to date — one that felt vintage-inspired yet modern at the same time, thanks to a few simple styling tricks. Ambrosio's casual getup consisted of a pair of flare jeans with a subtle front slit (very early aughts, no?), a simple, fitted tank top, and classic white Converse. The one piece that pulled everything together and infused the look with '90s edge? A red tweed shirt that she threw on as a jacket instead.

Ambrosio's statement piece hails from French-girl favorite brand The Kooples. It's rendered in a wool, alpaca, and polyester blend, so it's warm and cozy without being too thick. As such, it's the ideal top layer to wear on a warmer winter day. The best part, though? The styling options that come along with it are endless, thanks to its oversized yet elegant fit. You can wear it as a dress, a shirt, or a jacket — just let your creativity lead the way.

The model topped off her effortless, off-duty look with a pair of brown-tinted Garrett Leight sunglasses, an essential accessory in the heart of winter. A bright-red mini Gucci crossbody bag, which she slung casually over one shoulder, added a welcomed pop of color and played off of the crimson hue in her shirt.

Though there are so many things to copy from Ambrosio's latest getup (the bag-and-shirt coordination, for example), the main styling takeaway is just how easy it is to refresh your favorite button-up by wearing it as a jacket instead. And while Ambrosio's exact shirt is currently sold out, the market is chock-full of the most perfect shirts (both oversized and more fitted) that effortlessly moonlight as jackets.
