It's been a whirlwind of a week for the royal family. First up, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry (as well as Baby Archie, who just made his debut on Weds.), embarked on a 10-day journey to South Africa, marking their first overseas trip as a family — which is quite a momentous occasion. As such, it's no surprise said trip had the Internet in a complete frenzy, and it certainly helped that the duchess' outfits have been quite covetable, too. Now, adding to the bucket of can't-miss royal family news is Princess Beatrice's newly-unveiled engagement ring. Yep, another royal wedding is on the horizon — and if that dazzling sparkler is any indication, Her Royal Highness will likely be opting for a classic wedding gown.

Princess Beatrice and real estate specialist Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's engagement announcement, perhaps unsurprisingly, came in the form of a breathtaking Instagram via the royal family's official account. The platform has become the go-to medium for the royal family to share important news with fans — the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are known to be quite active on the 'gram, too.

But, what likely made fans stop mid-scroll early Thurs. morning was a stunning series of snaps of Princess Beatrice and Mapelli Mozzi grinning ear to ear (images were taken in Italy by Princess Eugenie herself), with Beatrice sporting a gorgeous floral dress and a massive dazzler on that finger.

The ring was designed by jeweler Shaun Leane, who took to his personal Instagram account to share a bit about the design process.

"I am so honoured Edoardo chose to work with me to design the engagement ring for Princess Beatrice and to have been involved in this special moment in their lives," Leane wrote. "The bespoke experience was a beautiful journey; from imagining the design with Edoardo to the crafting of the finished rings. Being able to incorporate both Edoardo and Princess Beatrice’s characters into the design has resulted in a unique ring that represents their love and lives entwining," he added.

To get even more details about the ring's design and its possible price, The Zoe Report tapped Kathryn Money, vice president of strategy and merchandising at Brilliant Earth, for some expert insight.

"Princess Beatrice’s timelessly elegant engagement ring appears to feature an estimated 3.5-carat round-brilliant diamond set on a white gold or platinum band adorned with diamond baguettes," Money shares.

As for its value? Money estimates Beatrice's engagement ring to cost between $75,000 and $100,000, "depending on the quality and specific characteristics of the center gemstone."

Beatrice's ring is the epitome of timeless elegance, but it's also quite on-trend, too. According to Money, "Fancy cut (non-round) diamonds have been increasing in popularity, both when used as a center diamond and as accent diamonds." She adds, "In particular, baguette accents are having a moment," noting Jennifer Lopez's engagement ring as another example.

According to the royal family's Instagram, Mapelli Mozzi popped the question earlier this month while the two were on vacation in Italy — talk about a romantic setting, no?

As for when you can expect to see Princess Beatrice's bridal look? Though no exact date has been revealed, the royal family did share that the wedding will take place sometime in 2020 — so mark your calendar and keep your eyes peeled for more details surrounding the couple's wedding.
