It's a tradition that the royal family has upheld for centuries and one that people now tune into mainly for outfit inspiration. Though it wasn't one of her own children under the spotlight this time, the Duchess of Cambridge still managed to capture plenty of attention in the background of Archie's christening. Kate Middleton's pink Stella McCartney dress is guest fashion at its finest.

The Windsor clan shared a rare family photo in light of baby Archie's much-anticipated christening on Sat. Royal fans have been looking forward to this moment since the baby was born two months ago.

In Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's latest post on their joint @SussexRoyal Instagram account, you can see the precious new family of three surrounded by Prince Charles and Camilla, Markle's mother, Princess Diana's two sisters, and the Cambridge royals, who wouldn't have missed their nephew's baptism for the world.

It's the group shot that many feared they wouldn't get, seeing as Archie matters have been kept so private. And although the single family photo isn't quite as abundant as all the arrival and departure photos we've gotten from Middleton's children's christenings in the past, it's certainly enough to give you your fix of royal fashion (that is what you came for, after all).

Sitting on a chair in the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle, the Duchess of Cambridge is seen wearing a pretty pink dress by one of her all-time favorites, Stella McCartney. Now that it's her turn on the sidelines, rather than being the mom of the hour, Middleton apparently thought it time to introduce some color.

In the past, the 37-year-old has exclusively worn ivory coat dresses to her kids' christenings, a tradition that Markle (now wearing all-white) has seemingly adopted. This time, she sported a long-sleeved pussybow minidress in bubblegum pink. She paired the number with fuchsia pumps and a matching headband that was so reminiscent of the outfit Princess Diana wore to Prince William's christening in 1982.

It's been almost 40 years since the late princess wore that floral-print, puffy-sleeved midi and you just can't help but think that Middleton once again channeled her old-school fashions, especially because the duchess also wore a headband the exact color of Princess Diana's hat.

She's been known to copy her late mother-in-law's outfits like that. In any case, the monochromatic pink look was the summer outfit of every girly girl's dreams. So, there you have it. All the outfit inspiration you'll ever need for those upcoming wedding invitations.
