Get ready to relish in a hefty dose of style and beauty inspiration this morning, because the 2019 InStyle Awards took place on Mon. evening — and the star-studded event was a true treasure trove of fashion, makeup, and hair ideas sure to last you through the holiday season. Celebs like Zendaya, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, and Laura Harrier arrived at the historic Getty Museum in Los Angeles — the annual gathering's location this year — in ensembles that proved their (and their stylist's) impeccable taste. But perhaps the one outfit of the evening that, quite literally, shined the brightest on the black carpet was Julia Louis-Dreyfus' metallic dress look. It was glitzy and glam in all the right ways, and it confirmed 2020's metallic trend is perfect for party season.

Celebs tend to get first dibs on the latest fashion designs to debut on the runways — and Louis-Dreyfus' InStyle Awards outfit is yet another piece of proof. The actor's metallic midi made its way down Brandon Maxwell's Spring 2020 ready-to-wear collection in Sept., and now it's already made its first red (well, black) carpet sighting on none other than Icon of the Year Award winner, Louis-Dreyfus, who was dressed by celeb stylist, Cristina Ehrlich.

The 58-year-old commanded all the attention when she posed for the cameras in the silvery midi dress, which featured a structured, streamlined silhouette, a square neckline, a subtle side slide, and pockets — in short, said number was yet another example of Maxwell's exceptional design (and tailoring) skills.

In keeping with the lustrous theme, the actor slipped into a pair of silver, pointy-toe pumps and accessorized with Fernando Jorge jewels.

When Louis-Dreyfus' Brandon Maxwell dress debuted on the catwalk during New York Fashion Week in Sept., however, it was styled slightly differently — something that's not all too uncommon, actually. When a celeb reaches for a designer piece, it's likely some tailoring will be done (see: Lady Gaga's 2019 Grammy dress) or in this case, some subtle styling adjustments will be made.

On the model, the silvery, tailored frock was paired with gold strappy sandals, which made for a cool metallic contrast. But the footwear of choice wasn't the only differentiating element from Louis-Dreyfus' InStyle Awards outfit. The runway look was accessorized with a large handbag, rendered in the same material as the dress.
