It's no secret that Hilary Duff's 2000s style is still a major source of outfit inspiration to this day. Those tie-dye tees, colorful bucket hats, and neon-colored mules the teen sported religiously are as prevalent as ever in 2019. Over time, though, the 31-year-old's style has certainly evolved, and while she still works a few of those quirkier fashion crazes into her off-duty getups, she prefers to keep it a bit more toned-down and low-key. Maxi dresses, jeans, white boots, and a newly-added wide-brim green hat are essential in recreating Duff's summer 2019 style with ease.

Sure, bucket hats are a celeb favorite this time of year — they add a dose of early aughts edge to every look, they're an easy solution to a bad hair day, and they protect your tresses and face from the sun's harsh rays — but there's another bold (albeit slightly chicer) topper that has won the hearts of practically every Hollywood A-lister: a floppy hat, and Duff just proved how easy it is to wear this beachside essential on the streets, too.

Olivia Culpo, Chrissy Teigen, Ashley Graham, Selena Gomez, and Blake Lively have all taken the trend out for a spin in recent weeks. Now, Duff joins the growing list of floppy hat devotees, recently reaching for a green raffia topper for a family farmer's market outing over the weekend. Prepare yourselves: Once you set your sights on hers, you won't be able to go another day without the accessory.

On Aug. 4, Duff was all smiles as she sipped on some iced coffee and strolled around the Studio City market with her two kids and fiancé Matthew Koma. For the casual outing, the 31-year-old reached for four staple pieces she's turned to time and again this season: lightweight jeans with a bit of distress, a wrap blouse with gorgeous eyelet detailing and puffy sleeves, her favorite Ancient Greek sandals, and last but certainly not least, a dark-green wide-brim straw hat that instantly upped the glam.

Duff paired the casual-chic getup with large gold tube hoop earrings —another summer 2019 trend celebs like Gomez, Hailey Bieber, and more have rocked nonstop — and a few gold bangles. Her hair, though covered by the extra-large hat, seemed to be pulled back into a low ponytail and she opted for the no-makeup makeup approach. Simply stunning, Duff.

Floppy hats of all kind, whether made of wool or straw, aren't going anywhere anytime soon, even when the fall season rolls around. They're actually super easy to wear and they instantly make every outfit, whether a swimsuit coverup or a pair of jeans, look 10-times more glamourous.
