Emma Stone Found The 2018 Version Of The Topknot — & It's Perfect For Second-Day Hair

Winter can be hard on your hair, and not just because cold weather can make it dry, flat, or frizzy. Finding hairstyles that are just as stylish as they are practical isn't always easy, but Emma Stone's wispy updo provides the low-maintenance inspiration your beauty lineup has been lacking. Her messy bun may look intricate, but it's actually an easy fix for second-day hair.

Stone sported the unique take on a classic topknot at the 2018 Governor's Awards on Nov. 18 in Hollywood. The piece-y updo paired perfectly with the actor's full Louis Vuitton look, which featured a black, sparkle-adorned gown and delicately detailed hoop earrings. In classic Stone fashion, she completed the look with bold makeup. Her metallic-toned eyeshadow served as the perfect complement to her glittery dress and undone hairstyle.

Instead of a slicked-back ponytail or a blunt lob, Stone found middle ground in the form of a loose bun with a few face-framing pieces left out. The actor, who stars in the upcoming film The Favourite, achieved the look with the help of her longtime hairstylist Mara Roszak. The pair have collaborated in the past to create other unusual hairstyles, like a red-carpet flower crown and Stone's signature Old Hollywood waves.

Although Stone is one of Roszak's regular clients (the actor is all over the stylist's Instagram), her celebrity roster doesn't end there. She's worked with Cara Delevingne, Nina Dobrev, Margot Robbie, and plenty more to accomplish some of the most memorable hairstyles in the industry.

Besides looking red-carpet ready, Stone's hairstyle is great for those days when you can't find the time for a full wash and blow dry. Second-day-hair often calls for dry shampoo and a wavy ponytail, but this upscale swap could give your go-to style a run for its money. Wear it on a night out for a quick boost of sophistication, or try it at work to make getting ready a breeze. The messy nature allows lots of room for experimentation, and you pretty much can't go wrong.
