Her fashion parade in the French Riviera confirmed it: Elle Fanning is a certified street style genius. At just 21 years old, her nostalgic aesthetic is as classic as Jackie O's. And if you haven't already noticed, floral co-ords are the outfit formula Elle Fanning relies on the most.

This rising style icon oozed old-Hollywood glamour on every red carpet at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. In fact, some of her off-duty looks were just as remarkable as the slew of couture gowns she wore to the premieres.

Between Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, Sandro, and Ryan Lo, Fanning was like a one-woman runway show as she wandered the streets of France. Florals were a running theme throughout the week and the actor channeled her inner garden fairy several times with pretty botanical co-ords.

Floral prints in the spring is no novel concept, let's face it, but you can easily give the age-old design a modern spin by adapting it to a contemporary trend. There's perhaps nothing more 2019 than a matching two-piece set whether it be pants and a crop top, leggings and a sports bra, or a Fanning-approved retro skirt suit.

Ahead, some of The Zoe Report's favorite Elle Fanning street style moments, featuring her go-to combination.

A perfect example of mixing an old-school print with a modern silhouette was the actor's rose-adorned set on May 18. She sported a black turtleneck under her oversized, pajama-style button-up top and completed the matching cropped-and-flared pants with a pair of strappy kitten heels.

Dress & Jacket

How classic were Fanning's A-line shift dress and matching jacket? Worn with those throwback Fendi sunglasses ... *swoon*. While they're not actually flowers, the tiny blue bows on her Paule Ka set were further proof of her affinity for co-ords in feminine prints.

This garden-inspired midi and matching blouse by Marc Jacobs is the updated version of the classic skirt suit. Fanning wore the ensemble with red-tinted glasses and bow-adorned Chanel sling-backs in the same shade for a full-on '50s look.
