Pick a word to describe your personal style. Even if you fall somewhere between preppy, polished, or sporty, getting dressed probably involves some level of layering prints and patterns — even all the minimalists out there. For its Pre-Fall 2019 collection, Louis Vuitton is banking on that fact, ushering in a fresh take on this styling trick with the help of 17 friends of the iconic fashion house. The goal: to show how no matter your style profile, you can embrace print-mixing in a fresh way for 2019.

"These women embrace the various personalities that embody fashion at Louis Vuitton," says creative director Nicolas Ghesquiére via press release. "Be they stars or new faces, all of them share the same willpower, and confidence in their choices, and at the same time, reflect he eclecticism of the female identity."

The collection anchors around the moody hues of fall, incorporating traditional prints — soft florals, preppy plaids, wild animal prints, and of course the classic LV logo — into the mix in unexpected and refreshing ways (think floral on floral or cool color mix-ups). The goal of the collection is to create a wardrobe that expertly clashes. It's a little bit city, a little bit country; ladylike but still full of youthful energy. With stars including Thandie Newton, Laura Harrier, and Sophie Turner all on board, you too will want to embrace all patterns big and small this year.
