On Tues. evening, celebs and royalty alike flocked to the National Portrait Gallery in London to attend the museum's annual gala. Everyone from Kate Middleton to Alexa Chung glided around the gallery floors in gowns that seriously wowed. But although most guests showed up wearing luxe dresses, there was one attendee who took a different, albeit equally chic, route. That's right, Victoria Beckham's black pants proved to be the perfect alternative to floor-grazing frocks — and it's a piece you'll want to work into your own cocktail attire, too.
On March 12, Beckham was photographed arriving at the National Portrait Gallery Gala alongside her husband, David. Both looked incredibly elegant in subtly coordinating looks. The retired soccer player showed up in a classic black tuxedo (complete with sleek satin lapels) and a bow tie.
Beckham, who has made exquisitely tailored pants a signature in her style, attended the formal event in black trousers that were equal parts chic and practical, deeming them a great alternative to dresses. The designer's wool-crepe pants were plucked straight from her Fall/Winter 2019 collection and feature a high-waisted silhouette, sharply pressed creases, and tapered hems perfect for showing off an eye-catching pair of pumps.
