Every New Beauty Launch You Need To Know About For April
There’s a lot to love about April: Mercury is out of retrograde, it’s Earth Month, and festival season and wedding season are upon us. But perhaps the most exciting thing about the month ahead is the sheer amount of new beauty products to try for April 2019 — including Oribe’s first range of hair care for natural curls and coils and a fresh polish collection from OPI.
But just because April is jam-packed with products doesn’t mean your spring skincare routine has to be. “I think typically, you can use the same products you did in the winter,” Shani Darden, a celebrity aesthetician who works with Kelly Rowland and Emmy Rossum, tells TZR. Two of her key ingredients for a year-round glow are retinol (which can be found in Belei Refining Retinol Moisturizer, part of the brand-new beauty line from Amazon) and hyaluronic acid (the star of Knours’ latest Be Kind To Your Skin sheet mask). “I love layering moisturizer over a hyaluronic acid serum to get moisture without clogging your pores,” she adds.
The aesthetician also recommends bringing the lightweight hydration of a serum to another part of your bod: your armpits. She’s a fan of the just-launched Dove Dry Serum, an antiperspirant made with a quarter moisturizer (namely, sunflower seed oil) and 12.9 percent aluminum to keep you from sweating as the weather warms up. “Serums absorb into the skin really quickly and that’s what this is,” she tells TZR, on behalf of Dove. “It’s so hydrating; instead of having that dry feeling, the texture is so silky smooth.”
“Silky smooth” seems to be the name of the game across the categories of makeup, hair care, and body care, too.
