There isn't anything Elle Fanning can't pull off. Whether it's the Marilyn Monroe-print set she sported for her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Kimmel or the dreamy magenta Rodarte gown she wore to the L.A. premiere of her latest film, Teen Spirit, the actor has quickly cemented herself as an out-of-the-box tastemaker worth watching. As such, it should come as no surprise that she's officially found the coolest new way to rock 2019's biggest footwear trend. Want to know how to wear cowboy boots this spring? Well, Fanning's got you covered.

After attending countless red carpet events, making stops on talk shows, and jet-setting to Shanghai to attend the launch party of Miu Miu's new fragrance, Fanning is officially back in sunny Los Angeles — and she's brought her impeccable style game with her. On Sat., the actor was photographed shopping in West Hollywood, wearing the no-brainer weekend uniform you'll want to take note of ASAP.

Her film premiere functions may be over (for now, at least), but it seems Fanning isn't quite ready to part ways with the romantic, floor-grazing gowns that defined her red-carpet style this season. The hero piece in her off-duty look was a light-pink maxi dress from Merlette — a brand that focuses on curating the perfect getaway wardrobe. The actor's frock, which features an A-line, five-tier silhouette, is perhaps the best example of the label's effortless design approach.

Though she could have easily styled her pink dress with sandals, the 21-year-old opted for something slightly more unexpected, adding a touch of Americana-cool to her look with white Fendi cowboy boots. The pointed-toe pair, which featured an asymmetric wooden heel, ever-so-slightly peeked through with each step.

Fanning pulled her hair back into a nonchalant updo, rounding out her spring look with pink-tinted sunglasses that proved to be the perfect complement to her candy-colored dress.

Cowboy boots are nothing new among the celeb set, but Fanning's approach to styling the Western-inspired trend feels particularly fresh.
