Elle Fanning, the face of Miu Miu's new fragrance, Twist, made an appearance for the brand's perfume launch in Shanghai on Tues., and the 20-year-old looked as spritely as ever. Dressed in a sheer t-shirt dress and black slingback pumps, the actor served stunning simplicity, and Elle Fanning's '60s-inspired makeup look was so minimal and chic.

The brand ambassador has been making rounds in the headlines thanks to her upcoming role in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, as well her exclusive interview in Net-a-Porter's weekly digital magazine, PorterEdit. In the piece, the blonde beauty shared details on difficulties growing up with sister and fellow actor Dakota, dealing with rejection in Hollywood, and her lifelong love for her craft.

In the magazine's retro-looking photos, one thing's for sure: Fanning has a classic movie star look about her that pairs impossibly well with winged liner. Halfway around the world, Fanning brought that same air of effortless beauty to the Miu Miu event, with the aforementioned black eyeliner drawn out to new heights. Paired with a sleek side part, peachy cheeks, and a slight flush in the lips, Fanning proved how sometimes doing less can make the most impact.

The actor's less-is-more beauty look was a sweet addition to the modest midi dress, and Fanning was serving her signature French-girl aesthetic on full throttle. In the age of Instagram and YouTube tutorials, full faces of statement makeup aren't going anywhere, but it's nice to remember how striking minimalist beauty really can be. With a signature winged liner, nude shadow, and peachy highlights, the muted hues of the mod era were definitely coming through in Fanning's look.

This balanced blend of dark liner and pops of pink is universally flattering, and it's super simple to pull off on your own. Make a nod to the '60s and give the look a whirl for yourself, with The Zoe Report's key makeup products, below.
