While jeans are a versatile, year-round wardrobe staple, styling your favorite denim over and over can get a little tired. That's where Yara Shahidi's polka-dot pants come into play. The actor's printed silk trousers are on-trend, breathable, and so easy to dress up or down.

Shahidi was photographed while out and about in New York City on March 8 wearing the epitome of playful, spring style. The Grown-ish actor sported a pair of satin trousers by Marc Jacobs that feature a sage-green hue, white polka dots, a high waist, and billowing, wide legs. Shahidi and her go-to stylist, Jason Bolden, kept it neutral by tucking in a retro-inspired angora cardigan and buttoning it all the way to the top. In an effort to dress up the look, the 19-year-old donned a pair of pointed, white pumps that peeked out from the hemline.

Although Shahidi's makeup artist, Emily Cheng, loves to experiment with bold colors and daring techniques, she opted for a subtle glow this time around that featured glossy lips, dewy skin, and fluffy brows. Shahidi's half-up hairstyle was accessorized with a dainty bow (courtesy of Nai'vasha), which made room for her stunning Jennifer Fisher hoops.

Green polka dots may seem like a particularly adventurous choice, but the addition of a light-colored cardigan helps soften the look. Wear this Shahidi-inspired outfit with pointy pumps to work, on a date, or to your next evening event, or make it more comfortable by swapping heels for platform sneakers, menswear-inspired loafers, or strappy flats.

Just like Shahidi proved with her latest look, it's all in the details. Accessorize with a bow, keep your hair out of your face with a stylish headband, or add some sparkle in the form of an embellished barrette. Ahead, shop The Zoe Report's picks for recreating the actor's outfit immediately.
