Tracee Ellis Ross' Neon Look Proves This Color Trend Is Here To Stay
The colors are a-changing this season — and not just in nature. The street-style scene is in the midst of a serious color revamp right now, with shades like burnt-orange, pistachio green, and rich burgundy replacing those in-your-face shades that reigned supreme throughout summer 2019. But before you completely rid your wardrobe of said warm-weather shades, you might want to take a look at Tracee Ellis Ross' neon-green dress outfit — which confirms the slime-green trend that people have had opinions about this season is here to stay for the foreseeable future. Sorry slime-green naysayers — this hue is proving to be as sought after as ever right now, so it might be time to try out it for yourself.
The queen of Instagram is back at it again — and this time around, she's serving up a high-octane getup that certainly isn't for the faint of heart. That's because it's perhaps as bold and bright as it gets, and it hits on the controversial color trend that might not be everyone's cup of tea. But, beware: The Black-ish actor might just succeed at convincing even the most color shy of people to test drive the traffic-stopping hue.
On Oct 14., Ross took to the 'gram to share a detailed look at her #OOTD with her 7 million followers. Slime-green (and a lively highlighter yellow) was the color theme throughout. Both hues appeared in her checkered S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. dress, which features extra-voluminous puff sleeves and a quirky neck tie.
The poppy, lemon-y shade was most prevalent in her footwear: a pair of the celeb-beloved heels from Schutz that are designed with a transparent upper (read: like the clear Cinderella shoes the style set can't get enough of) and pops of yellow on the heel, the side, and the front.
Ross is the latest celeb to take Balenciaga's newest Hourglass bag out for spin, too. The croc-embossed iteration was just spotted in the hands of Hailey Baldwin, but the Black-ish actor opted for a black shiny calfskin version instead, in the same XS size, however.
A touch of fall's classic hue was evident on her pout, thanks to a swipe of a burgundy lipstick. She also sported a slick, braided ponytail that felt very on-season. As per usual, that's a complete style and beauty win for Ross.
Even though you might be gravitating toward pieces rendered in orange, green, navy, and red right about now, think about jazzing up your fall wardrobe with a dash of slime-green. Shop The Zoe Report's favorite neon-hued pieces, ahead.
