All who were captivated by HBO's new drama series about Monterey housewives have been awaiting this moment for a long time. Weds. was the New York premiere of Big Little Lies' second season and the star-studded cast did not disappoint in bringing the looks. Here are the ones you need to see.
Just when you thought the cast of this award-winning (and seriously addictive) series couldn't get any better, they add Meryl Streep into the mix. The girl gang — whose characters have earned the nickname "the Monterey Five" — is now more iconic than ever, with Streep, Zoë Kravitz, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Reese Witherspoon sharing the spotlight.
Finally, the ladies of Big Little Lies reunited Weds. night with some notable guests in tow: Kidman with her country music legend husband, Keith Urban, and Reese Witherspoon with her 19-year-old daughter, Ava (who, by the way, is Witherspoon's doppelganger).
The ever-fashionable women simply radiated style inspo, too. Mostly sticking to a black-and-white theme, their outfits were the epitome of evening chic. From Woodley and Dern's sheer looks to Kravitz's elevated LBD, let these be a lesson in Sat. night dressing for you this spring.
The best looks from the premiere, ahead.
Shailene Woodley
This fashion-forward actor is no stranger to the latest trends and it shows. Her see-through chiffon Dior dress played on this season's sheer trend in the best way possible.
Reese Witherspoon
Witherspoon was the only one of the Monterey Five who opted for color. Her strapless midi from Elie Saab's Pre-Autumn/Winter collection featured a pretty blush pink-and-black print.
Zoë Kravitz
Kravitz's Saint Laurent spin on a classic strapless LBD is so glittery. She arrived at the premiere in a shimmery, bedazzled mini with an asymmetric ruffle and strappy sandal heels.
Jessica Williams
Dressed in a head-to-toe iridescent pink-sequin dress with a pastel-green feathery neckline, Williams might not be one of the fab five, but she sure did make a statement in this puffy-sleeved frock.
Nicole Kidman
Williams wasn't the only one sporting sequins and feathers. Kidman opted for a shiny, feather-trimmed blazer by Michael Kors and carried a little, pale-pink handbag by Moynat all night.
Laura Dern
Dern must have gotten the message about sheer because she showed up to the premiere in a black, see-through button-down tucked into cigarette trousers and a smart white blazer overtop.
Meryl Streep
Streep stuck to her classic style in a floral-print Oscar de la Renta wrap dress with sheer chiffon sleeves. She accessorized with heart-shaped onyx earrings.
Kathryn Newton
Newton — who has also been featured in The Society and Detective Pikachu — has been getting plenty of red carpet time in lately. Her striped, A-line gown with a plunging neckline proves she's going to be one to watch from now on.
