All The Amazing Met Gala Beauty Looks You *Need* To See

Today is the first Monday in May, which marks the 2019 Met Gala. You don't have to be a fashion editrix to be intrigued by the myriad of haute couture creations... and this year's theme, Camp: Notes On Fashion, makes for some of the best and boldest 2019 Met Gala beauty looks that have ever hit those hallowed pink carpeted stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

If you haven't been following, the notion of camp fashion embodies exaggeration and irony. So when it comes to what's going on up top — namely, the hair and makeup — you're not necessarily going to see all of the soft, dewy makeup and rolled-out-of-bed curls like we did during fashion month — especially with a guest list that includes co-chairs Lady Gaga and Serena Williams, along with the likes of Lupita Nyong'o, Katy Perry, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Nope, a night at fashion camp calls for jeweled eyelashes, as seen on Lady Gaga, created by makeup artist Sarah Tanno. Or perhaps a swept-back center pony, as seen on Williams.

Granted, some of these looks might be a little much for, say, your Tuesday morning board meeting or even weekend cocktails... but that's all the more reason to be inspired. See the best campy hair and makeup looks, ahead.
