The 2019 Emmy Awards Looks Our Editors Can’t Stop Talking About
Fact: When it comes to awards shows and their dazzling red carpets, everyone plays favorites. Maybe you love a sleek little black dress ensemble or an outfit with a touch of Old Hollywood glam. Either way, in a sea of stunning frocks, there's bound to be one or two that really hit home. Such was the case for The Zoe Report's editors and the 2019 Emmy Awards red carpet.
This year's primetime extravaganza saw a plethora of beauty, making picking a favorite very difficult. However, it must be said, there were some truly stand-out outfits that TZR staff just couldn't get out of their heads. One particular favorite of the evening was Dascha Polanco, who stunned in a pink off-the-shoulder Christian Siriano gown (topped off with a high pony!). Another jewel of the evening was nominee Mandy Moore, who turned all the heads in her two-toned custom Brandon Maxwell dress. Not to be outdone, Pose star Angelica Ross was effortlessly flawless in a one-shoulder pink mesh gown with a train that brought the drama.
Yes, it seems this year's Emmys was a veritable feast for the eyes, and one that will be on the brain for weeks to come (or until the next award show). Ahead, check out the looks our editors are still reeling from.
"Angelica Ross stunned in a floral-embroidered mesh gown that draped beautifully in a floor-sweeping silhouette. This was one of my favorite looks of the night because I felt like the styling was spot on — from the tousled updo, right down to the minimal accessories. 10/10!" — Shelby Hyde, Shopping News Editor
"I love how this look captures old Hollywood glamour in a sleek, modern way." — Aidan Macaluso, Senior Social Media Editor
"Viola Davis absolutely stunned at the Emmys this year. I'm obsessed with the two-toned dress trend that dominated the red carpet, and she made it look so chic with her black and white gown. So good!" — Anna Buckman, Shopping News Editor
"The high pony! The sharp cat-eye! The sleeves! There's nothing not to love about the OITNB star's look — it's reminiscent of an '80s Barbie doll who has her career, wardrobe, and life perfectly sorted out." — Madge Maril, Staff Writer
"I love a red carpet moment that's reminiscent of Old Hollywood glam, and Mandy Moore's look is the epitome of this. The red and pink color blocking feels fresh against a classic retro silhouette. I love everything about this look!" — Angela Melero, Deputy Editor
"Since I've only recently binged Pose, I might be a little biased, but Mj Rodriguez's hot pink Jason Wu gown made my jaw drop. It looks modern, dare I say comfortable, and certainly something her character Blanca would serve down the runway at a Pose ball." — Ashley Tibbits, Staff Writer
