Sophie Turner Pulled This Dress Straight From The Runway & Styled It So Differently
Let the Game of Thrones madness begin. All the actors from HBO's successful show filed into the Radio City Music Hall in New York City for their final season premiere on Weds. night. Being the fearless trendsetter she is, Sophie Turner made her glamorous black dress look so different from its runway debut.
This 23-year-old has come a long way since the first episode of Game of Thrones aired nearly a decade ago. Only 15 when she started, Turner is now engaged to a Jonas Brother and sitting front row at fashion shows.
Weds. evening marked a momentous occasion for her and the whole bunch: The show that launched them all into immediate fame is almost over. The significance of it was obviously not lost on Turner, who made sure her look was one for the history books.
She must have predicted the inevitable eight-years-later side-by-side comparisons because her cocktail dress looked suspiciously similar to the one she wore to the first premiere in 2011. Both minis were black, strappy, and sparkly, but the latest put her bold fashion sense that's blossomed over the years on display.
Turner selected an elevated LBD from Louis Vuitton's Fall 2019 lineup. The strappy number featured all-over dots and stars, a corset-style bodice that zipped up the front, and lace detailing around the skirt.
On the runway, the dress was styled with a wide waist belt, black tights, and chunky lace-up boots. Turner, on the other hand, glammed it up with strappy sandals that featured chunky clear heels. Her super-dark eye makeup made the dress look edgy enough.
Fans who follow the actor closely might have guessed she'd go with Louis Vuitton, seeing as she was just featured in the designer's celebrity-studded Pre-Fall 2019 lookbook. She and fellow actors Laura Harrier, Michelle Williams, Thandie Newton, Riley Keough, and more played models for the day in the lookbook, which was released in Jan.
