The Duchess of Sussex has been on maternity leave for over a month, leaving fans desperate for her next fashion moment. Finally, she's debuted a new outfit and it's one for the history books. Meghan Markle wore a sleeveless white dress as she offered a glimpse of the new royal baby on Wed. morning.

On May 8, two days after Kensington Palace announced that Markle and Prince Harry had welcomed a baby boy to the family, the duchess made her first official public appearance as a mother.

The couple stood in St. George’s Hall at Windsor Castle and waved to photographers as Prince Harry held the newest royal in his arms. The baby reveal is a tradition everyone has become accustomed to now that they've been through it with Kate Middleton three times within the past five years, though Markle veered away from the norm by waiting two days to debut baby Sussex.

For Markle's moment in the spotlight, she opted for a sleeveless white dress by Grace Wales Bonner. Considering the duchess has looked toward French fashion house Givenchy for some of her most momentous occasions (the royal wedding included), the decision to wear an under-the-radar designer is surprising. But featuring a collared neckline, buttons, and a bold waist belt, the stunning piece falls right in line with Markle’s signature style.

The refined silhouette is one the duchess has turned to countless times. In fact, Markle has long favored blazer-like frocks, especially ones with double-breasted detailing and practical pockets (which is why the pick she wore on Weds. might look familiar).

Back in Oct. 2018, Markle attended a Courtenay Creative event in Wellington, New Zealand, wearing a white Maggie Marilyn blazer dress that had two symmetrical columns of buttons in the front and side pockets (much like the one she wore on May 8).

She also wore an extremely similar style for a visit to the Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition in London last July. That time, she stunned in a soft-pink trench-inspired frock from Canadian-based brand, House of Noni.

It's safe to say Markle has quite the penchant for blazer dresses, and she'll likely continue to turn to the classic wardrobe staple for upcoming public appearances.
