In recent months, the Duchess of Cambridge has been trying her hand at countless of-the-moment trends. She's clearly a fan of oversized headbands, she loves a good, chunky, lace-up boot, and she's even developed a fondness for croc print. In other words, she's wholly in support of the maximalist accessories that have been making a splash in the fashion world. That's not to say she's completely parted ways with her signature, understated picks just yet. Case in point: Kate Middleton's green bag — a simple, refined piece that perfectly embodies the royal's style.

On Jan. 29, Middleton and Prince William jet set to Dundee, Scotland to help open the country's first design museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum. The royal duo braved the chilly temperatures in style, of course, with William opting for a navy two-piece suit, a warm coat, and a plaid scarf.

The duchess, ever-so-slightly coordinating with her husband, relied on one of her all-time favorite pieces: a green-and-blue Alexander McQueen tartan coat dress that has actually been hanging in her closet since 2012. She paired the dress with black tights, her go-to suede pumps by Tod's, a green scarf, and black gloves. But the real standout accessory of choice? The duchess' miniature green handbag, which hails from Manu Atelier and is still available to shop — if you act fast, that is.

Middleton's poppy-green pick is the perfect mix of classic sophistication and modern elegance — much like the royal's style. The bag features a leather-flap closure that's cut out in a geometric shape, and it's designed with a top handle and a shoulder strap. The duchess opted to carry it by hand rather than wearing it slung over her shoulder.

This isn't the first time the Middleton has shown her affinity for the micro trend. On Nov. 28 of last year, she stepped out with a mini, croc-effect bag in hand. And on Oct. 9, 2018, she was photographed with that same animal-print pick yet again.

Micro bags have cemented their status as quite the power piece — and they're showing zero signs of fading into the background anytime soon. With the duchess' stamp of approval, it's likely they will boom even more. Ahead, shop Middleton's exact green mini bag, as well as The Zoe Report's handpicked favorites.
