If workwear still brings up images of boring gray separates, take a page from Eva Longoria's book, which includes a summery yellow suit. Not only is the look completely pulled-together, but it's actually surprisingly wearable. Bright suits can add a needed pop of color to an otherwise monotone office space, and are incredibly versatile.

The actor wore a bright yellow Max Mara suit for her visit to The View on June 17 in New York City. She appeared on the show to promote her new series, Grand Hotel. The former Desperate Housewives actor styled her suit over a plain white tank top and little else when it came to her accessories. What she did wear, she kept mostly neutral via metallic accents. Longoria opted for sky-high brown and gold sandals and a pair of diamond stud earrings to round things up and keep the look lively. Her beauty look matched perfectly with a bronze smoky eye and heavily bronzed and contoured skin, while her hair was swept back into a bouncy, blow-out high ponytail.

Spring and summer are all about adding color back into your wardrobe, and Longoria’s look was the perfect example of how to be playful with your workplace style while still looking sophisticated and professional. Turns out the actor isn't the only one who favors this approach. Fashion went truly technicolor this year, with collections that boasted nearly every shade of the rainbow on the runways. Prabal Gurung featured candy stripes and color blocking, while Carolina Herrera featured yellow studded blazers and metallic plaid suits. In addition to Longoria, stylish A-listers like Kaia Gerber and Khloé Kardashian are also latching on to the trend. (Gerber wore a metallic taupe version to Marc Jacobs' wedding in New York on April 6, while Kardashian donned a glittery silver number to celebrate Diana Ross' 75th birthday back in March.)

If you're looking to wear the suiting trend in your office but aren't sure how acceptable a neon shade would be, try going for a more subdued color like rosy pink or pale blue. You can wear both pieces together for a high-impact look, or wear them as separates on days off. When worn with an otherwise simple outfit (read: your favorite pair of jeans), the entire outfit is instantly refreshed for the new season.

As you see, it's worth considering investing in a more luxurious suit this season. Because this is a piece that you'll probably wear time and time again, purchasing an item with intricate detailing and/or sturdier hardware might actually pay off in the end. Brands like Tibi are known for their high-quality suiting separates. And if you're not looking to spend too much on a bright option this season, old faithfuls like Zara have you covered as well.
