Emma Roberts’ New Brown Hair Color Will Convince You To Go Darker

Share

It's no secret that celebrities have been going back to their natural roots (pun intended) as of late. Case in point: Emma Roberts' new brown hair. The actor officially swapped her light-blonde locks for a soft-brown shade that's much closer to her natural color. Prepare to call your nearest salon, because Roberts is bound to inspire you to go darker this season, too.

Roberts is basically a hair chameleon, having bounced between varying shades of blonde, auburn, and brown in recent years. She's even tried her hand at the candy-colored hues that have been making quite a splash in the beauty world recently. In other words, it's safe to say she's certainly not opposed to changing it up every now and then, with her latest (arguably most drastic) hair transformation in years having just made its debut.

On Tues., Roberts posted a photo of her freshly dyed, dark-brown hair, writing, "back to basics," which hints at that fact that she's returned to her natural color — for now at least. As for the mastermind behind the the perfect, chocolatey hue? Her longtime hairstylist, Nikki Lee, who outlined on Instagram the many steps she took to achieve Roberts' new shade, which she calls a "classic brunette."

Though Roberts drastically changed up her hair color, it appears she kept it simple with the cut, sticking with the shoulder-grazing, '60s-inspired bob that's quickly become her signature.

While many celebrities have been favoring lighter shades during the cold-weather season, the 28-year-old's new hue makes a convincing case for going darker, too. Next time you're itching for a dramatic change, why not go for a classic brunette look à la Roberts?

Then, after getting your hair dyed, make sure to invest in a handful of color-persevering products that will help keep your fresh hue vibrant for months. Ahead, The Zoe Report's favorites to always have on hand, including the best shampoos, sprays, and more.
