The Most Inspiring Confections From Chanel Spring 2016 Couture

by Shannon Nash

Karl Lagerfeld has worked his magic once again at Chanel—this time creating an enchanting environment complete with a grassy runway, water lily ponds and meditation gardens for Spring 2016 Couture. The zen vibe of the Grand Palais in Paris echoed the extraordinary collection rendered in eco-friendly materials like recycled paper, organic woven yarn and wood chips used as paillettes. An unexpected yet practical touch: a handful of looks were paired with belt bags—yes, glorified fanny packs!—making us think that the Kaiser has landed on planet Earth (from heaven, naturally). Even though couture and its hefty price tags prove out of reach for the majority of the world, the handcrafted fashion does make one stop and think: If I had that jacket, I would wear it every day. Here, 10 incredible looks worth saving up for—or at least worth dreaming about!
