Alexander Skarsgård Knows You Hate Him In Big Little Lies And Has The Best Response

by Allie Flinn

Regulation hottie Alexander Skarsgård is well aware people hated his character on Big Little Lies, so he wants to make it very clear he is not Perry Wright. Reunited with BLL co-stars Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon for a panel on Tuesday, he joked he was surprised to be invited. Apparently Alexander was out of the country when the show aired, and he was greeted with a chilly reception upon his return.

“I was isolated up in Alberta, Canada, so I missed the whole show and everything around it,” he said. “I got back about a month after the series finale, and it was tough. I flew into JFK, got off the plane and people were like, ‘Oh….'” He joked, “I’m going to die a very lonely man.” (Hi, call us!)

Also, talk naturally turned to whether or not a second season would happen because this is a pressing question that needs to be answered.

Reese weighed in with a diplomatic, “I love these people and where we left them. They’ll always have a connection and they’ll always be together—except for you,” directing that last part at Alexander with a smile. ICYMI, his abusive character Perry died in the first season.

His response was hilarious (and obviously a joke): “I’m actually working on a sequel. You have not seen the last of Perry Wright. Spoiler alert: Did he really die? I don’t know. Did we go to the funeral?” When someone was like, um yeah, there was definitely a funeral, he quipped, “But did we see him in the casket?”

Oh, Alex. Such a jokester. A tall, beautiful, Swedish jokester.
