A Titanic Reunion Happened Last Night, And We’re Never Letting Go Of This Moment

by Allie Flinn

We already knew Leonardo DiCaprio was set to host his annual charity auction in Saint-Tropez, but we weren’t prepared for the major moment that ensued when Kate Winslet and Billy Zane appeared alongside the actor-activist for a Titanic mini-reunion. The trio—one character we adored, another we despised and one we still routinely blame for the former’s tragic death—gathered for a photo op to commemorate the evening’s accomplishment of raising more than $30 million for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation to combat climate change. Billy even took to social media to share the group pic, adding quite the punny caption: “Gang’s back together. Now we’re saving icebergs. Go figure…” Now if only Cal was as Zane-y in real life. (Sorry, we had to.)

Original, July 25, 2017:

Leonardo DiCaprio will be serving up some serious nostalgia at his annual fundraising gala. A dinner with Jack and Rose—aka Leo and Kate Winslet—is set to be auctioned off at the gala, which will take place July 26 in Saint- Tropez, France. The proceeds from the dinner will benefit causes that Winslet champions: the Golden Hat Foundation and a GoFundMe campaign to help a mother with cancer. The highest bidder will get to dine with the Titanic costars at the New York restaurant of their choice.

Think of all the questions you would ask them: Where do they fall in the whole the-flotsam-was-big-enough-for-two debate? How many times have they heard the song “My Heart Will Go On”? (Follow-up: Can they please sing it?)

On second thought, it’s probably a good thing we don’t have enough money to even begin bidding on this, as we’re fairly certain being in the presence of such star power combined with all the ’90s feels would render us literally deceased.
