The 2024 TZR Beauty Groundbreakers Awards

Staying up to date with the latest beauty launches in 2024 is a full-time job. With so many bond-building hair treatments, wrinkle-smoothing serums, and pore-blurring foundations hitting virtual and physical shelves daily, brands are working overtime churning out countless innovations. Quite frankly, it’s nearly impossible to decipher which products are worthy of a coveted spot in your routine. For the inaugural TZR Beauty Groundbreakers Awards, we’re spotlighting the year’s most revolutionary products that live up to their lofty promises, along with cutting-edge in-office treatments that top skin care experts turn to for maximum impact with little downtime. Over several months, we enlisted our team of TZR editors, BDG staffers, and a panel of the industry’s top experts — from celebrity hairstylists to renowned dermatologists — to test 397 products for an entire month, then rate them based on ingredient innovation, formula technology, and sustainability initiatives in production and packaging. Manicurist Stephanie Stone is as equally renowned for her flawless artistry and intricate design as she is for her friendly personality. Stephanie’s celebrity clients include Miley Cyrus, Lili Reinhart, and Billie Eilish, to name a few. She has collaborated with celebrated photographers, including David Sims, Emma Summerton, and Hedi Slimane, and her fashion editorial clients include international Vogue, Teen Vogue, and Elle. She has worked on major campaigns for Saint Laurent, Dior, and Michael Kors. Nail art is a particular specialty of hers — Stephanie is in truth an illustrator with the nail as her canvas, a skill she has translated into partnerships with various brands such as Disney, Vans, and NCLA. Reece Walker is a New York-based celebrity hair colorist and stylist with a career that spans more than 20 years and multiple continents. His styling work can be seen on some of the world’s most influential actresses and celebrities, including Victoria Beckham, Bella Hadid, Miranda Kerr, Eva Longoria, Poppy Delevingne, Sara Bareilles, and fashion doyenne Carine Roitfeld. Known for his signature bright blond coloring technique, Reece has color clients including Christine Baranski, Olivia Amato, Serena Samuela, and Kendall Toole. Reece has been a prominent personality backstage at London, New York, and Paris fashion weeks for brands like Michael Kors and Tom Ford. Dr. Dara Liotta, M.D., FACS, is board-certified in both ear, nose, and throat (ENT) and facial plastic surgery. Her practice, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, focuses mainly on rhinoplasty and complex revision rhinoplasty. She maintains offices in both New York and Dubai, with a surgical license in Dubai, and has participated in cleft lip, cleft palate, and facial reconstructive medical missions worldwide with Medical Missions for Children.

Dr. Melissa Kanchanapoomi Levin, M.D., is a board-certified dermatologist, founder and medical director of Entière Dermatology, and clinical assistant professor of dermatology at the Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine. As a recognized leader in her field, she serves on the advisory boards; consults for multiple leading skin care, beauty, and dermatological pharmaceutical companies; shares her expertise at multiple national and international conferences; and serves as a reviewer for top dermatologic peer-reviewed journals. Known for her honesty, she has become a trusted go-to voice for major media outlets for dermatology and beauty.

Dr. Michelle Henry

Dermatologist

Dr. Michelle Henry, M.D., FAAD, is an international speaker, trainer, and author. As a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon, she has established herself as a prominent figure in the industry. She serves as the CEO and founder of Skin & Aesthetic Surgery of Manhattan, as well as the founder of The Henry Research Group. In addition to her private practice, she holds the position of clinical instructor of dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical College. She specializes in general dermatology, Mohs micrographic surgery, and cosmetic surgery. Additionally, she actively serves on multiple medical boards, conducts FDA clinical trials, and is a member of the product validation board at L’Oréal. She is a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and American College of Mohs Surgery.
