Zendaya's Emmys' After-Party Dress Was So Different From Her Red Carpet Look (But It's Just As Good)
The 2019 Emmy Awards have come and gone. A lot has happened since the style set stepped foot onto the red carpet with jaw-dropping ensembles — and to be honest, we’re still thinking about some of those outfits. And once the ceremony announced its final award and attendees cleared the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, it was off to the after-parties. Like its predecessor, the Emmys' after-parties always have major style moments. After all, they typically carry a more playful or casual approach, and Zendaya’s Emmys after-party dress was no exception.
If you watched the awards show on Sunday night or took a quick scroll through Instagram during the event, there’s a good chance you’ve already seen Zendaya’s head-turning Emmys ensemble. The Euphoria actress — with the help of her stylist, Law Roach — attended the 2019 Emmys wearing a sleek, emerald green custom Vera Wang dress, which featured a lined sheer bodice — further proving that corsets are a major trend of the season — and a beautifully draped slit.
According to Roach’s post on Instagram, the star kept her ensemble coordinated with matching green pumps from Brian Atwood and Cartier jewelry. Hands down, Zendaya’s look for the show is undoubtedly sophisticated. However, when it came to the after-party, she took a completely different approach (but don’t worry, her second outfit was just as good).
It’s no secret that the post-Emmys events call for something a little different from its primetime counterpart. Some stars like Mandy Moore may opt to have an after-party look that feels like an extension of their first ensemble of the evening. Others, like Maisie Williams, switch into a more comfortable pair of shoes. However, Zendaya changed into a sweet, floral-print tea-length dress by Alexandre Vauthier Couture to attend HBO’s Official 2019 Emmy After Party. The romantic dress — which the actress accessorized with simple emerald stud earrings, a cocktail ring, and black pumps — ups the ante with a long train at the back for added drama.
If Zendaya’s two drastically different — but equally chic — ensembles for the Emmy Awards have proven anything, it’s that the actress can pull off anything. Whether she’s on the red carpet sporting a three-piece suit or a reimagined tuxedo, debuting fiery red hair, or out enjoying a casual day, Zendaya is cementing herself into the role of a style icon with every appearance she makes. Without a doubt, you can always count on Zendaya to serve looks — no matter the occasion.
