Yara Shahidi is booked and busy. The actor and activist has been on-the-go promoting The Sun Is Also a Star, a teen romance film starring Riverdale's Charles Melton and the 19-year-old Black-ish star. Making the rounds in New York City for various press appearances, Shahidi stopped by The View to talk Gen Z and the 2020 election, dropping knowledge and demonstrating insight beyond her years, as usual. But aside from serving as a pillar of inspiration for activism and social justice, the Harvard student stays serving looks, and Yara Shahidi's high-waisted skirt infused a jolt of vibrancy into her all-pink outfit.

After bringing serious volume to the Met Gala pink carpet with a Victorian-inspired half updo last week, Shahidi isn't slowing down on her iconic beauty marathon. With two face-framing braids wrapped in metallic gold detailing, Shahidi's hairstyle for The View featured a high curly ponytail, accented with bronze cheeks, orange eyeshadow, and hydrated pink lips. With the braids looped into circles mirroring her gold hoop earrings, Shahidi was clearly ready to make a statement, staying in line with her unapologetic methodology in fashion, beauty, and individual thought.

Aside from the eye-catching fuchsia hue, Shahidi's hot pink mini skirt's ultra-high rise silhouette was worth taking note of. With neon pink paneling and a built-in belt, the statement piece served sophisticated edge paired with matching stiletto pumps. Ideal for fitted knitwear, a graphic tee, or a crop top, the form-fitting item would look equally chic with combat boots or sneakers.

While floor-length frocks and bike shorts continue to shine in the trend forecast, a mini skirt still stands as a timeless staple for a range of occasions. Give your spring style edit a flirty update and channel Shahidi with The Zoe Report's selection of super high-waisted options, below.
