NARS Just Released A New Collection & It Has The Warm Shades Your Winter Makeup Routine Needs

NARS
The NARS Afterglow Collection is full of warm tones that'll get you glowing.

It's a mere several days until the official start of winter, and plenty of places around the U.S. are already feeling the cold. If you're in such a spot, you may as well get used to the blustery cold commutes and incessantly chilly conditions, because they're here to say for awhile. But in order to avoid falling prey to a serious bout of winter gloom, you'll no doubt be searching for warmth in any shape or form — and thankfully, the NARS Afterglow Collection is officially here to help with a major dose of heat.

Known for its sultry shades and cheekily named cosmetics, it's no surprise that crowd-favorite beauty brand NARS would go with something a bit subversive for a wintertime launch. It's possibly known best for popularizing a sexy peachy-pink shade called "Orgasm", after all. So when the first installment of the Afterglow Collection landed at Sephora on Dec. 11 filled with warm, smoldering shades that are evocative of a much warmer climate, it may feel unexpected. But frankly, it fits right in with the rest of NARS' lineup.

And, its arrival just so happens to be perfectly timed to warm your makeup routine right up during the coldest time of year.

The Afterglow Eyeshadow Palette, $59, is one of the stars of the fresh drop and features 12 undeniably warm hues in shimmery, satin, and matte finishes. The vivid shades call to mind a desert landscape at sunset, and range from a bold fuchsia to chocolate browns to gilded peaches and champagnes — all of which will pop amongst cooler toned palettes of the season, and nicely complement your party ensembles.

With this collection, NARS also took the opportunity to introduce new shades of its Afterglow Lip Balm, which were already wildly popular (to the tune of 60,000 loves at Sephora) in the brand's iconic Orgasm color. Now you can get your hands on five additional hues on Sephora's site: a cherry red called Turbo, a mulberry hue dubbed Wicked Ways, nude mauve Fast Lane, warm coral Torrid, and dusty rose Dolce Vita that mimics the brand's popular blush shade. All offer sheer color and a hydrating sheen.

Still to come is the Overlust Cheek Palette, which won't be shoppable on Sephora's site until Dec. 28. Keeping with the collections warm, glowy vibe, it features six pans in hues you might expect to find in a summery beach-inspired palette; three powder blushes in champagne, golden bronze, and rose bronze will bring healthy color to your face, and three gel-powder hybrid highlighters in soft pink shades should help you fake a vacay glow mid-winter.
