Negin Mirsalehi's New Collab Is The Epitome Of Fall Dressing

by Shelby Ying Hyde

There's very little that Negin Mirsalehi doesn't do (from bee keeping to traveling all over the globe), so it makes sense that the influencer turned haircare guru would add designer to her long list of credentials. Prior to amassing her cult following, Mirsalehi was studying for her master's degree when a close friend suggested that she start her now highly-curated Instagram page to share her outfits of the day and the rest? Quite literally, history.

Fast forward almost a decade later, the Dutch-native has more than five-million dedicated followers and a new Express X Negin Mirsalehi collection for Fall 2019 — which launched on Sept. 5, the (unofficial) first day of New York Fashion Week.

The fashion maven debuted her new Express line in an intimate panel specifically for the launch, led by fashion expert and Netflix star, Tan France, where she divulged on the inspiration behind the line and why Express was the ideal partner. "They were really able to give me so much freedom to express myself, and everything just fell into place", Mirsalehi told France.

But the point that the mogul really drove home was the versatility of the collection and how it was designed with her own personal style influences and interchangeability at the forefront — allowing the pieces to work well with just about anything you own. "I wanted to design a beautiful fall collection with pieces that I can wear wherever I go but also mix and match, because that's something I love to do", the designer said.

The capsule itself consists of a variety of coordinate set options — think classic suiting and figure-hugging knitwear — but the standout styles in particular were the fuzzy polo top , $60, and the snake-effect pencil skirt, $89, that's designed in a high-shine material that she so cleverly labeled "(Minus The) Leather" or faux leather.

It's also important to note that Mirsalehi's decision to opt out of using real leather had everything to do with her love and respect for the environment and being mindful of her footprint. "I'm still educating myself on the topic", she explains to TZR in an exclusive interview, post panel, "As a bee keeper who's passionate about nature, I'm making small steps towards doing what's good for us and that's why I used faux not real [leather] in this collection".

This faux leather lineup included a gorgeous tan jacket, $178, with a relaxed boyfriend fit and a wrap-detailed mini dress, $168, that is structured yet soft to the touch. But it's the waxy skinny pants, $98, and

There's also a generous offering of tailored separates that can be worn to complete a suit set, with short options in both mini and Bermuda for a multitude of different occasions. Finish the look off with the capsule's quality basics that can be filtered into your wardrobe when the weather starts to break and beyond. As for the the blogger's favorite pieces?
