It’s official: Plaid button-ups are no longer reserved for western-themed parties and comfortable pajama sets. The cozy material is the perfect outfit solution on a brisk winter day, especially when paired with your go-to jacket or pullover. Reese Witherspoon's favorite button-down proves that you can dress up the classic printed top, and it's actually pretty easy.

While out and about in Los Angeles on Thurs. afternoon, Witherspoon was photographed in a timeless outfit combination. The 42-year-old channeled her southern roots when she paired a button-down flannel in the perfect navy hue with mid-rise, straight-leg denim and a pair of pointed ankle boots. The actor accented the boots by incorporating a camel-colored crossbody, which she paired with classic wayfarers by Ray-Ban. As a final touch, Witherspoon opted for a pair of thin, silver hoops and a stack of bracelets. Her blonde hair looked effortlessly tousled, and she parted it to the side to accentuate her grown-out bangs.

Take a look at any of her street-style ensembles and you’ll see Witherspoon really understands the power of a statement piece. The actor typically opts for low-key, relaxed looks, but she expertly pieces together crisp blouses and tailored jeans to create easy, polished outfits.

Witherspoon's wardrobe staple is designed by Los Angeles-based brand Rails. The label draws its inspiration from the laid-back vibes of Southern California, all the while incorporating an elevated feel in each and every piece. The best part? The majority of their flannels are made in an incredibly soft and cozy fabric, like Witherspoon’s exact style (Rail’s cult-favorite, the Hunter).

Witherspoon is no stranger to Rails. The brand’s well-loved flannels have been a staple in her wardrobe for a number of years. The actor was even photographed wearing a Rails flannel back in 2015 as she took a pitstop at a Los Angeles gas station. Witherspoon chose a brighter-toned button-down in a vibrant plaid, which she paired with skinny jeans, nude suede booties, and aviator sunglasses. To finish off her casual, on-the-go look, Witherspoon swept her infamous blonde hair in to a loose, messy ponytail.

It makes sense that Witherspoon has kept her Rails shirts in constant rotation. Not only are they super comfortable, but they’re easy to work into a number of quick outfits. Pair one of their signature items with distressed denim, a leather jacket, and high-top sneakers to add an edgy flare to your flannel look. If you've been waiting to experiment with mixing prints, Witherspoon’s top may be your perfect excuse — pair it with a floral midi skirt and ankle boots for a fashion-forward take on the trend.

If you want to try out Witherspoon's daytime style yourself, you're in luck. Rails are super on sale at Saks Fifth Avenue right now — but they won’t be for long. Ahead, shop The Zoe Report's favorite Rails flannels to create your own Witherspoon-inspired ensemble.
