Jonathan Van Ness' Sheer Emmys Look Is So Dramatic

While chic pantsuits were a dominant theme across the board, Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness' sheer take at the 2018 Emmys was a highlight of Sept. 17's red carpet. The television personality — who's been nominated for four Emmy awards — showed up to the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles wearing the celebrity trend of the season, but took a dramatic spin by pairing his all-white, plunging suit with a nude-colored, sheer chiffon turtleneck.

For good measure, the beloved hairdresser threw in a pop of color via a violet handbag and his signature always-well-groomed mustache. One can't help but notice the cocktail of fall trends Van Ness managed to roll into one ensemble — suiting separates, jewel tones, and sheer fabrics. And while the rest of the cast of Queer Eye looked just as dapper, it can't be denied that Van Ness truly stole the show.

One would expect nothing less of the reality star, who's no stranger to incredible ensembles. In fact, just last week, Van Ness wowed at the Creative Arts Emmys in a Maison Margiela dress (and equally impressive Pierre Hardy platform booties). It also seems the sheer trend is having quite the moment, and he's definitely here for it.

The Cast Of Queer Eye

The fab five — Van Ness, Bobby Berk, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Karamo Brown — made a case for evening wear in theirs. Between the colorful plaid print, rich jewel tones, and double-breasted button detailing, the crew was a sartorial feast for the eyes. Oh, and did you catch that cape on Brown? Or how about the footwear on Porowski? Stunning.

The popular bunch was nominated for four Creative Arts Emmys last week — Outstanding Structured Reality Program, Outstanding Casting For A Reality Program, Outstanding Cinematography For A Reality Program, and Outstanding Picture Editing For A Structured Or Competition Reality Program — and won three of them (all but Cinematography). Between the hilarious banter and heart-warming storylines, the show has become a favorite to millions in the span of a year, and fans are already anxious for Season 3.

The cast came together again to present at the Sept. 17 award program, walking hand-in-hand on the red carpet. It became quickly clear that they were definitely the more popular attendees of the night. In fact, Mandy Moore gushed over meeting the crew that night. Shortly after declaring it her mission to get a shot with the five men, the actress took to Instagram and posted a shot of herself with the group, writing: "I've already won! I can go home now!"

With the Emmy nomination, wins, and stunning ensembles, it appears that this is just the start of something so good for the five men. And if the crew that stuns together truly stays together, this one is in it for the long haul.
