Miley Cyrus' Wide-Brim Hat Is The Perfect Segue Into Fall's Western Trend

As summer comes to a close, you may be trading in your straw hats and sun visors for more seasonally appropriate ways to throw shade — Miley Cryus' wide-brim hat being a prime example. The entertainment mogul had her fall aesthetic on full display at the VMAs after-party on Mon. night, and the 26-year-old was all smiles while hand-in-hand with rumored partner, Kaitlynn Carter. The blonde duo were coordinated in white tees and blue jeans for the star-studded bash, and Cyrus added an upscale twist to her cropped ribbed tank via a Fendi button-down and a boxy handbag.

Still rocking the wet hair look from her live performance of her latest single, "Slide Away," Cyrus scurried past paparazzi outside of Manhattan's Up & Down, and mama Tish (also decked out in western-style millinery) wasn't far behind. Featuring a white-speckled feather and a pop of color via a turquoise stone, the brown wide-brim hat lent a touch of country flair perfect for the Nashville-born rocker, along with a slew of silver jewelry and sharp cat-eyeliner.

Cyrus appeared in good spirits despite laying her heart out on the stage with the emotional new ballad, and Billy Ray Cyrus had just snagged the Song of the Year Award for chart-topping Lil Nas X track, "Old Town Road," so there were plenty of reasons to celebrate.

A wide-brim hat seems like a no-brainer for rock royalty such as Cyrus, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't consider yourself a "hat person" this fall. Even if you opt out of the statement feather or the midriff-baring crop top, it's worth channeling the singer's western-inspired vibe this season. Whether paired with a bohemian frock or an oversized suit, a wool fedora will add an earthy touch to your fall style in no time.
