Lucy Hale Just Wore The Jeans Every It-Girl Is Loving Right Now
Once a season, a random piece rises rapidly — and rather unexpectedly — to cult-classic status in the fashion world. Some are short-lived, while others (Realisation Par's Naomi skirt) last a long while. Right now, every it-girl out there is obsessing over her Levi's Ribcage Jeans, and Lucy Hale's striped variation proves she's on board.
Move over leopard midi skirt; there's a new summer bottom in town. You might be seeing a whole lot of Levi's new Ribcage Jeans on your Instagram lately, whether you realize it or not. The legendary denim brand released the new style toward the end of 2018 and almost immediately sold out to the it-crowd.
There's plenty to love about these instant cult classics, including the super high waist (rising a whopping 12 inches high and hitting just below the ribs — the brand's highest ever fit), their baggy silhouette (adhering to the anti-skinny jean movement), and extra-wide cuffs (on select styles), which you know is becoming a major thing.
They're inspired by the old-school Levi's 501 style that was hugely popular in the '90s and they're absolutely dominating street style in 2019. Lucy Hale just showed her support of the trend by sporting a navy-blue striped version.
The actor stepped out in a perfect summer outfit on Mon., which consisted of a basic white knit tank by Aritzia, the striped "On The Fence" style of Levi's cropped and pleated Ribcage Jeans, and a chestnut-colored leather belt that matched her classic Madewell loafers. She sported retro round sunglasses and carried her Salvatore Ferragamo bag as she went on a coffee run.
This time of year, there's a whole gaggle of flowy dresses, skirts and jumpsuits to choose from, but consider these quintessential summer pants before you go casting off denim for the season. They're a cool-girl staple and Hale's is the perfect warm-weather pick.
