It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Kate Middleton's wardrobe. The duchess got festive with her look while hosting a holiday party at Kensington Palace with Prince William on Tues. You're going to love Kate Middleton's plaid skirt so much you'll want to wear it to all your upcoming rendezvous, too.

Fake snowflakes fell on the couple's iconic London residence as Santa Claus made his rounds with the family members of military personnel who are currently deployed. The royals turned Kensington Palace into a winter wonderland on Dec. 4, and Middleton, of course, dressed the part.

The Duchess of Cambridge sauntered through the faux flurries with her tartan skirt trailing behind her in what seemed like a scene from a Hallmark movie. Her pleated midi — designed by one of her all-time favorites, Emilia Wickstead — was the perfect holiday party piece.

Middleton balanced out the bold red, green, and white tartan print with black basics. She even adopted a super-modern trend and wore her cropped Brora cardigan buttoned up as a blouse. The duchess paired the look with her go-to diamond-drop earrings by Mappin & Webb and sophisticated black velvet slouchy boots. The classic combo was elegant, feminine, and, according to Middleton, holiday party-approved.

Middleton somehow always seems to find the most perfect outfit for every occasion. Her holiday looks are usually just the right amount of festive without being too themed. The duchess has sported some version of an elegant emerald green coat dress, for instance, for St. Patrick's Day every year.

The royal wore plaid (in the form of the cutest red and green Miu Miu coat) to Christmas service in 2017, too. Thus, her latest ensemble certainly suits her impeccable style. And the fact that she opted for Emilia Wickstead is no surprise.

Middleton sports the designer constantly. Just within the past month, she has visited the BBC headquarters while wearing a turquoise Emilia Wickstead dress that she wore out twice before. The mom of three also re-wore a lilac number from the label (with the same earrings she wore with her most recent look, in fact) to the Global Ministerial Health Summit in Oct.

While the duchess' exact Emilia Wickstead piece might exceed your budget, her overall look is so easy to recreate. Simply pair your own winter-ready plaid skirt with neutral basics like Middleton has and be ready to be the best dressed at the party.
