Pantone said the official color of 2019 would be Living Coral, but the fashion girls are declaring their own reigning hue of the year, and it's crimson. This bright and fiery sliver of the color wheel is perhaps an even more surprising summer shade than neon green and turmeric, but everyone from Olivia Munn to Kate Bosworth is wearing red from head to toe these days. Let them show you how to do bold monochrome the right way.

The vivid shade that's long been known as a holiday color is going to have a major moment this summer, just you wait and see. Earlier this month, street style queen Kendall Jenner hit Manhattan with a red-hot double denim look courtesy of Helmut Lang.

Now, the color trend has taken over Kate Bosworth, Zendaya, and Olivia Munn's June wardrobes, too. In fact, Zendaya and Munn both sported all-red-everything while out in New York on Tues. — the former in scarlet pajama separates with matching boots and the latter in a long-sleeved, bellbottomed jumpsuit.

Nobody did it as perfectly, though, as Bosworth, who even matched her beauty to the monochrome look. On Mon., the model was spotted leaving the Mark Hotel in a tuxedo-style suit from Jason Wu's Resort 2020 collection and punchy red lip to match.

According to the it-girls in-the-know, the age-old "go hard or go home" motto applies when it comes to putting together a red-on-red ensemble. You won't see nearly as many subtle incorporations of the daring shade as you will bright and energetic displays of it nowadays.

Coordinating your lipstick hue, as in Bosworth's case, requires the highest level of commitment. Taking the risk, though, will guarantee a reward, so go ahead and pile on every fiery thing in your closet and apply your boldest lip shade without reservation.

Red jumpsuits like the model's to help get you started, ahead.
