Julianne Hough Just Chopped Her Hair Into The Perfect Chin-Grazing Bob

It's out with the old and in with the new for Julianne Hough. The actor stepped onto the red carpet at Mon. evening's premiere of A Star Is Born with an edgy new look. Better book yourself a seat at the salon immediately, because Julianne Hough's chin-grazing bob and bangs will inspire you to give your own hair a little chop job this fall.

The actor is known for her long, blonde hair (and it's often thrown up in a messy bun while she runs errands around Los Angeles), but she's officially traded it out for a choppy, ultra-textured bob with long fringe just above her eyebrows. Hough's bold haircut is the work of stylist Riawna Capri of Nine Zero One, a celebrity-favorite salon in Los Angeles. Capri (whose client roster includes the likes of Ruby Rose, Nina Dobrev, and Selena Gomez) works regularly with Hough.

Hough's new chin-grazing bob frames her face perfectly — and pairs well with those bold, fringy bangs, too. Her new look is quite the contrast from her recent red-carpet hairstyles — a slicked-back bun at the world premiere of Bigger in Sept. and a sleek low pony at the Aug. Industry Dance Awards — but she did seem to be toying with the idea of cutting it short when she rocked a faux bob at Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event in Aug.

This isn't the first time the Dancing With The Stars champ has opted for a dramatic chop. She first made her bob debut during the filming of Safe Haven in 2012. A year later, she went even shorter with a pixie cut — a bold move that worked in her favor. Hough's hair had been gaining inches since then, though, and earlier this year, she died her lengthy waves the prettiest copper-red hue (courtesy of Nine Zero One colorist Alchemist Amber).

Now, just two months after dying it back to her signature blonde, the actor snipped it again. She debuted her new bob at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles Mon. night while wearing a sleek all-white, bell-bottomed pantsuit. She let the bob speak for itself with subtle makeup and a tame pink lip.

Hough's new hairdo is actually turning out to be the style of the season. Olivia Culpo, Khloe Kardashian, and Ashley Graham have all hopped aboard the blunt bob trend this past summer. Kim Kardashian's stylist, Justine Marjan, told Elite Daily in Aug. that glass hair like Culpo's (think: hair so straight, sleek, and shiny that it literally reflects light) will be the look of fall. Hough's take on the blunt bob, though — choppy, purposefully messy, with shaggy fringe — has a bit more edge than the emerging glass hair trend.

Lately, Nine Zero One's Instagram feed has featured bobs in every shape and color — the angled bob, the square bob, the wavy lob with bangs, and textured bobs — making one thing very clear: you, too, need to get a short haircut this season.
