Among summer 2019's most popular fashion crazes, the utilitarian trend definitely ranks in near the top — and for good reason. Easy, versatile rompers make getting dressed a complete breeze, especially when you find yourself in a time crunch, while cool cargo pants are an ideal way to channel the early aughts whilst sparking some serious nostalgia. The latest workwear-inspired staple to add to your lineup this season? Jennifer Garner's green cargo skirt — a casual yet cool closet essential that can be styled in so many different ways.

The 47-year-old typically sticks to athleisure looks when she's off duty. That means leggings, zip-up hoodies, and sneakers are the actor's go-to when she's strolling around Los Angeles, but in recent weeks, she's been working more of-the-moment pieces into her getups. She gave clogs — the latest "ugly" shoe to take the fashion world by storm — her stamp of approval, and now, she's officially managed to find one of the most stylish ways to do workwear during the warm-weather months.

On June 2, Garner was photographed out and about in L.A., with a fancy grape platter in hand. She was presumably en route to a gathering (maybe a wine and cheese night with her best friends?), looking equal parts cool and comfy. She wore a camo sweater with an embroidered, swirl-patterned front, which she half-tucked into a forest green cargo skirt featuring two oversized pockets — a design element typical to utilitarian pieces — and a detachable belt.

Garner styled the sweater-and-skirt combo with smart essentials, including gray lace-up oxfords, an oversized tote bag that she carried in hand, and black, square-framed sunglasses for added UV protection.

The actor's latest off-duty ensemble proves that sometimes the most uncomplicated of pairings can look exceptionally good, especially when built around a one standout staple. In Garner's case, it was the green cargo mini that was the perfect, trend-forward hero piece. Though she wore it with a sweater and oxfords, it would look just as good with a black bodysuit and chunky combat boots.
