Despite topping Forbes' list of the wealthiest woman in music, Rihanna still isn't taking herself too seriously. On Sun., the Barbadian boss set off to her goddaughter's fifth birthday party in New York City, rocking a notably whimsical look that demonstrated how to wear a dress over jeans like a pro.

A master of all things extra, the tastemaker was bound to amp up the fun for little Majesty's birthday bash, and the highlight of her look was an experimental t-shirt dress by Quetsche. The abstract top featured a basic white tee layered beneath a black tulle bralette and a floor-length lilac slip. Falling midway down the calf of Rih's straight leg jeans, the flouncy lingerie juxtaposed the relaxed denim with a dose of playful femininity.

Continuing the fantastical vibe with a pair of rhinestone-adorned PVC pumps by Amina Muaddi, the fashion mogul topped things off with even more bling, hair clips, and a feathery pastel clutch to complete the lavender color story. Rounding out the look with a pair of futuristic sunglasses for good measure, the singer stayed true to form and made a serious splash.

As you well know, there's not much the 31-year-old fashion designer can't pull off, and this whimsical look is no exception. Her exact top is still available online, but there are several ways to serve the same vibe without copying her exact outfit.

A slip dress and jeans is a beloved formula fashion lovers hold dear, thanks to its chic and moveable versatility. Casual enough for a day on-the-go, but polished enough for night-out, the look can be styled a number of ways. Start with one of The Zoe Report's selection of dresses below, grab your go-to denim, and pair with sneakers, pumps, or strappy sandals.

Whether you go all out with accessories or tie a silk scarf around your neck or in your hair, you'll be channeling Rihanna's daring, youthful aesthetic in no time.
